Mientras se deciden en hacer el trabajo la vida les trae complicaciones que deben resolver antes del robo. It’s probably clear by now that this left me underwhelmed, but I’m still holding out hope that I’ll like some of the remaining Skarmeta books I’ve yet to read. I am surprised about that.

I have mixed feelings about this book. The writing is marvelous. Some of you might find it predictable. Preparano il piano per il colpo del secolo, il furto dei furti.

Subsequent editions of the book bore the title El cartero de Neruda Neruda’s Postman. If I had to complain at all, I would object to the title of the translation, which doesn’t do justice to the rich cast of characters.
Works translated from original Spanish have a different rhythm to them – yes, Katy, I’ll agree lyrical. Fl noticed that some people are giving it a bad review as they thought it would be a thriller.

Seguro que la mejora A pesar de esto, la obra tiene algunos detalles contundentes que hicieron que la calidad de este bajara hasta llegar a un 3. Kept hoping it would get better but it never did. I didn’t find the characters as interesting, unique or likeable Vergara Gray was probably my favorite, but it felt like the bottom dropped out of his character development about halfway throughthe plot was somewhat wandering and aimless suiting the characters, I suppose?
I am not sure I was as awed by the story, but it was interesting enough. Lists with This Book. I am surprised about that. More so, what the heck with THE ending? Como aburrido, bastante lento y como q no pasa nada. El estilo me deja un gusto agridulce. The characters are simply drawn and in the context of Chile they tell a story both of the people of Chile and of the nation.

Return to Book Page. So, star for tha Strangely enough, in all my 18 years as an avid reader or more like 15, to be fair to my analphabet babyhood I had never read a book as utterly Chilean as this one.
It was a quick read and interesting enough to keep bails moving. I felt I was watching a very cheap, very very cheap, Latin telenovela. From that standpoint I thought it was definitely worth my time.
