It really deals with the structure of a good story and how to push and pull the reader through without letting them get bored. I’d call that kind of book “action-oriented popular fiction” – basically a thriller or suspense strkcture.

The foundation of stimulus-internalization-reaction and scene-sequel was enlightening to me, as it is the structure that most readers subconsciously come to expect.
Bickham says you should present the components in order, clearly spelled out to the reader, and then on finishing the Sequel, jump immediately into another Scene. It will be like taking a college course in scene-building.
